Tawheed Is The Greatest Cause Of Opening The Chest

Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: "The greatest of causes for the expansion of the chest: The Tawheed, according to its perfection, and its strength, and its increase will open the breast for its posessor. Allaah The Most High said(Which translates to mean) :

"Is he whose breast Allaah has opened to Islam,  so that he is in light from his Lord..." (39:22)

And Allaah The Most High said (Which translates to mean) : 

"And whomsoever Allaah intends to guide, He opens his breast to Islam; And whomsoever He wills to send astray, He makes his breast closed and constricted, as if he is climbing up to the sky." (6:125)

Therefore, the guidance and the Tawheed is from the greatest causes of opening the breast, and shirk and misguidance is from the greatest causes of constricting/tightening the breast.
