FATWA: 'LEARNING QUR'AN WITH AHLUL BID'AH'
Question: As Salaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi. Our virtuous shaykh, may Allaah bless you. A person has a question:
"If we can't learn the Qur'an from Ahlul Bid'ah, and there aren't any Salafiyeen to teach it. What can we do in this case? "
Response:
1. He should choose a skilled reciter that he likes his recitation.
2. He opens the Mushaf on the place that he intends to memorize.
3. He follows the recitation of the reciter with his eyes(while looking) in the mushaf with listening more than once.
4. He recites with the reciter, trying to follow him in performance and mukhraj (origin of where letters come from while reciting) what he is able.
5. He repeats this more than once.
6. He memorizes the Ayat in which he intends(to memorize).
7. He records it, then looks into his mistakes to correct it.
