Explanation Of Al-Jihah (Direction) For Allaah
Shaykana Ash-Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih Al-Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:
We intend in this explanation, that we clarify(the following ): Is a direction(1)affirmed for Allaah, The Most High, or (is it) negated from him?
The realization in this (matter is): That it is not correct absolutely (to ascribe) a direction (2)for Allaah The Most High, nor negate it and nor affirm it, rather it is inevitable elaboration: If what is intended with it(الجهة) is the lowest direction, then it is negated from Allaah, and not possible; because Allaah The Most High, it is imperative for Him العلو Al-Uluw (Highness) absolutely ذاته و صفاته in His (Divine) Self and His (perfect) Attributes.
If what is intended with it (الجهة) Highness encircled by (His creation), therefore this is negated from Allaah, and not possible-also- indeed Allaah is the Greatest and Most Lofty from being encompassed from something of His creation. How, and His Kursi(Foot stool) is vaster than the Heavens and the Earth?
“ ...the earth will be grasped by His Hand and the heavens will be rolled up in His Right Hand. Glorified be He, and High be He above all that they associate as partners with Him!” (Al-Zumar: 67)
And if it is intended Jihah Uluw as it relates with His Greatness and His Loftiness without Him being encompassed (by His creation), therefore, this is a well established reality/right for Allaah The Most High- and due to Him...

(1)Ahlul Ta’teel (deviants who negate from Allaah, either partially, or totally The Most Beautiful Names and Lofty Attributes of Allaah) intend with the negation of Al-Jihah(A direction for Allaah) negation of the Sifah (description) Al-Uluw (Highness) from Allaah.
(2) Other than Allaah being over His creation. Allaah ta'ala said: "The Most Merciful Ascended over His Throne(In a manner that befits Him)." 20:5
