Question: As Salaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi our virtuous Shaykh and father. May Allaah bless you. A person has a question: What can a son** tell his Muslim mother, who says that he must cook on the day of the non Muslim Holidays(due to mother celebrating it). She does not listen to him, when he says that it is not permissible?

Response: Don't take her (order) into consideration.

*He is the virtuous shaykh Dr. AbdurRahman ibn Saalih Muhyi Ad-Deen حفظه الله ورعاه born in (1365 H) in Medinah. From among some of the scholars he studied with: Ash-Shaykh Al-Imaam Muhammad al-Ameen Ash-Shanqeeti رحمه الله , and Ash-Shaykh Al-Imaam 'Abdil 'Aziz Bin Baaz رحمه الله , Ash-Shaykh Hammad Al-Ansaariرحمه الله  (the scholar of Hadeeth ,who had his narration all the way back to the companion Muawiyya رضي الله عنه ) ,and Ash-Shaykh Muhammad Amaan ibn 'Ali Al-Jaami'رحمه الله just to name a few.

**I mistakenly mentioned son, instead of daughter. Nevertheless, what is haram for one is for the other.
