No Time For Ghusl Before Fajr?
Question: A person wakes up in a state of Janaabah
(major impurity), but if he performs Ghusl he won't be able to pray Fajr in its
time. Should he perform Tayammum (so as to be able to pray in time)?
Shaykh al-'Uthaymeen (rahimahullah) answered:
Shaykh al-'Uthaymeen (rahimahullah) answered:
It is upon him to perform Ghusl and then perform the prayer, even (if he prays) after its time. This is because the prayertime of the one who sleeps is when wakes up, because of the statement of the Prophet - sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam-: “Whoever sleeps past a prayer or forgets it, then he should pray it when he remembers it.” So at the time you wake up, then it is as if the prayer time entered just now. So perform Ghusl and perform the obligations that precede the prayer (like Wudoo'), then pray.
