Main Points from Shaikh Rabee's Dars
Student Abu Iyaad Amjad Rafiq
(hafidhahullaah) relayed some benefits and notes from his attendance Thursday
at a Dars (lesson) given by al-'Allaamah Shaikh Rabee'
Bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) in Makkah.
Main Points from Shaikh Rabee's Dars:
1- Strive
in the acquisition of the [the knowledge and understanding of the] Salafi
Manhaj and be steadfast, firm upon it.
2- Gain
understanding of the Book and the Sunnah upon the understanding (fahm) of the
Sahaabah (radiallaahu 'anhum).
3- Beware
of Ikhtilaaf, differing, causes and means of splitting.
The Prophet (salallaahu 'alayhi wa
sallam) said: ...This Ummah will break up into 73 sects, all in the hellfire
except for one. They said, "Which one is that, oh Messenger of
Allaah?" He said: Those on that which I am upon today, and that
which my companions are upon. [At-Tirmidhee, Al-Haakim; authenticated
by Al-Albaanee]
Al-Irbaad ibn Saariyah (radialahu
'anhu) reported: One day the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam)
admonished us with an intense sermon which caused the hearts to fear and the
eyes to shed tears, so we said: 'Oh Messenger of Allaah, this is as if it were
a farewell sermon, so advise us.' He (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) said: I
order you to fear Allaah, and to hear and obey, even if you have a slave
as a ruler over you. For verily, he who lives long among
you will see many differences. So I order you to stick to my Sunnah and
the Sunnah of the rightly-guided khulafa after me... [Abu Dawood,
Ahmad, Ibn Majaah, Ad-Daarimi, and at-Tirmidhee, who declared the hadeeth
'hasan-saheeh']
4- There
will never cease to be people (scholars) upon the truth.
Allaah's Messenger (salallaahu
'alayhi wa sallam) said: There will never cease to
be a people manifest and victorious upon the truth, unharmed by those who
oppose them and by those who forsake them, until the command of Allaah
comes. [Muslim]
The Prophet (salallaahu 'alayhi wa
sallam) said: ...This Ummah will break up into 73 sects, all in the hellfire
except for one. They said, "Which one is that, oh Messenger of
Allaah?" He said: Those on that which I am upon today, and that

5- The
Messenger (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) told us the way to stick to upon
occurrence of splitting, differing, controversy => holding fast to Book and
Sunnah...
[Allaah said: ...If you differ in
anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allaah and His Messenger, if you
believe in Allaah and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for
final determination.(An-Nisa`, ayah 59)
Allaah's Messenger (salallaahu
'alayhi wa sallam) said: I have left amongst you that which if you hold
onto you will never go astray: the Book of Allaah and my Sunnah. [Al-Haakim;
Hasan hadeeth] ]
6- The
Book is wahy (revelation), the Sunnah is wahy, and the Messenger's way is
excellent model of conduct (uswah hasanah).
[Allaah said: He does not
speak from his own desires. It was revelation revealed to him. (An-Najm,
ayat 3-4)
Allaah's said: Indeed in the
Messenger of Allaah (Muhammad), you have a good example to follow for him who
hopes in (the Meeting with) Allaah and the Last Day and remembers Allaah much. (Al-Ahzab,
ayah 21) ]
7- [Allaah
said:] Not for any believing man or woman to have any choice when
Allaah and Messenger have judged on a matter. (Al-Ahzaab, ayah 36) ...
8- The
true believer has this foundation, and acts upon it. Believers are united upon
truth, loving each other, showing affection etc.
9- And
behave with each other in the most appropriate way, being like a single body,
united, and bringing people to love this methodology.
