Shaikh Khaalid 'Abdur Rahmaan Al Misree (hafithahullah) said, “Don't connect yourself to a student of knowledge no matter how famous or popular he is and no matter how enticed you are by his knowledge. Why? This is because this student is not from those who are firmly grounded in knowledge. Rather, it is upon you (to stick adamantly) to the Imaams who are firmly grounded in knowledge. If this student agrees with those Imaams who are firmly grounded in knowledge (in Aqeedah, Minhaj, Character etc), then benefit from him. However, if this student contradicts those Imaams who are firmly grounded in knowledge then discard him with a complete discarding; for verily, a sign of misery and misguidance is for you to abandon that which the Imaams of Islam from the people of knowledge were upon in every era.”
